I have been working at TAB (The App Business) full-time
Pros
- It’s a really exciting time for TAB as we start to work with other offices in the St Ives group globally in Chicago, New York, and Buenos Aires.
- It’s an enabling culture that encourages people to get involved and make a difference, and there are LOTS of opportunities to get involved as we continue to grow.
- It’s a company full of incredibly smart and motivated individuals who want to help each other be their best selves. People will happily take time out of their schedules to stop and help one another.
- You get to work on really exciting projects with major brands to create products that really make a difference.
- It’s a great culture with lots of regular day-to-day benefits - Tea time break every Thursday with fresh home-baked goods and lovely tea ladies, Friday all hands wrap up with drinks and highlights from the week, regular social events/ quarterly parties, lunch supplied at the end of each month, and more.
- The way leadership is structured has just changed which allows for a lot more focus and attention to things that need to happen to continue to grow and better the company - as well as creates a platform to easily get involved and spearhead a change if you want to
- The founders of the company are great down to earth guys that immensely care, are easily approachable, and will happily lend an ear/support where needed.
Cons
- Given the nature of the work, sometimes it requires offsite work at the client site a few days each week. While the downside is being away from TAB, the upside is getting to work incredibly close to your clients/build strong bonds with them, the opportunity to be immersed in another culture and learn/experience how other enterprise level companies operate first hand, as well as getting to greatly expand your professional network.
- With growing companies, you get growing pains - but this just creates more opportunities to get involved, make a difference, and help shape the future of TAB.
Advice to Management
Keep it up - the enablement and support you provide to everyone is the heart of what makes TAB a great place to be.

Application
I applied online. I interviewed at TAB (The App Business) (London, England (UK)) in June 2017.
Interview
Initial screen was a HackerRank, which was fairly challenging. Next stage was a recruiter call. Three technical interviews of increasing difficulty. They assessed mainly technical expertise with Swift, and try to assess your interpersonal skills.
