    I worked at TCF full-time (More than 10 years)


    Dedication of leadership to make IT a business enabler, not just a cost center. Important projects are well funded and managed. Most areas refresh new technology regularly. Value placed on promoting or transferring internally to grow and advance.


    Management churn, and multiple reorganizations. Never know who will be gone, so things are very political and fearful. Projects can move very slow as management champions shift and lose focus. Older employees can be looked down on as backward, even if they had previously proposed and been rejected for the same ideas now being proposed. Simplified title structure limits promotion/raise potential, small annual raises and no bonus for non-management.

    Advice to Management

    Start weeding out the poor IT management from the front line and up, not the decent middle managers saddled with stale teams or functional VPs just to put in hand picked previous colleagues who have done things but not transformed teams.

    I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at TCF (Thornton, CO) in April 2017.


    Submitted an application, got a call the next day to have an over the phone interview, then after we set up an in person interview. The interview went well, I got a call 4 days later asking if I was still interested and I accepted the job. The over all process (including background/drug test took about 2 1/2 weeks.
