I worked at TGI Fridays full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the pros for bartending (even serving) for tgi fridays is that it teaches you a wide range of necessary skills for the job no matter where you work. Every quarter they would bring out new specialty drinks that involved techniques such as muddling, floating, stirring, or using blenders. As basic as those steps seem, I've worked in high end lounges since then where most of my coworkers don't know how to make stirred drinks properly because they aren't as common anymore. Pay was always excellent because they staff accordingly. The menu was always fun and easy to learn as they would only change about 6 things at a time instead of hitting us with complete menu overhauls every time. The networking is amazing too because just about everyone goes to a fridays at least once.

    Cons

The only con I have is that it's not easy to move up in the company unless you have the right timing. All of my managers had been managing with the company for 7-10+ years (common in most fridays) and even the key holders than been working there for 3-5. The company isn't growing any larger, so whatever position you enter in is probably the one you'll stay in, no matter how good you are.

    Advice to Management

    Continue leading the industry!
