Before your project is even greenlit, you can test your concept with a custom-made previs trailer.
Our “pitchvis” trailers have been used to help greenlight Godzilla (2014), Men in Black 3, Jack the Giant Slayer, Oz: The Great and Powerful and others.
To kick off the visualization process, our storyboard artists sketch story beats for each scene.
The editorial department cuts these shots into animatics for review.
Next we build the world your story lives in.
In Maya’s 3D virtual space, we generate each scene’s environment and elements.
With the assets in place, our artists animate the story and shots. The 3D visualization allows you to explore every action and angle. Previs is your sandbox and stress-test before you shoot.
Once previs captures your vision, we run a technical analysis to see how the story can be physically shot.
Our workflow stores all technical information (lens type, camera distance, size of a greenscreen, speed of a vehicle) and produces blueprints for physical production.
Our iterative, nonlinear virtual production workflow merges virtual environments and characters with your physical production.
We use imagery and 3D spatial data generated during previs to provide services such as virtual location scouting and on-set visualization.
After production, we combine the previs elements with the live action photography to quickly preview the film before implementing final VFX.
Postvis provides a post-production blueprint for your VFX team and a comprehensive look at the film for test screenings.

I have been working at THE THIRD FLOOR Visualization full-time
TTF is a very artist friendly studio and their quality of work is exceptional. They are constantly moving forward in technologies, toolsets and pipeline. They also encourage artists to grow by providing many learning opportunities and lectures, as well as outlets for artists to express their opinions and keep the conversation open. They have alot of social events where people can meet, have fun together and create more team unity. They are one of the few studios that actually offers benefits like maternity/paternity leave, jury duty, health and paid time off, which makes for a much healthier work environment. They also cap hours to 10 hours a day, unless there is an absolute emergency for additional OT. Coming from many companies that overwork their employees, I really appreciate being able to have more of a work/life balance, and when OT does come around I don't feel burnt out. TTF also has a large variety of projects at various stages with different needs which makes each project fun, interesting and an opportunity to grow with the project. This also means employment is pretty consistent since they have so many projects coming and going. There are many travel opportunities all over the world which is fun for anyone looking to travel. And last, but definitely not least, the staff at TTF are great people. Artists, supervisors, production, HR etc - friendly, fun, hardworking and team players. It's a great family to be a part of.
More transparency in hiring and casting. It would be great if casting checked in with artists more often - in terms of whether they will have employment, and for career development. I've seen a lot of people leave simply because they didn't know they had a job the following week or were unhappy in their career development. Letting artists know where they stand might keep them around longer and knowing an artists career goals and aspirations could help with casting on shows.

The interview should have been my first clue. It was a honey-pot full of promises. It sounded too good to be true and it is!
