I worked at TIAA Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I loved working for this company. It was EverBank when I worked there. I was with the company 15+ years. Company cares about its employees. Great growth opportunities and incentive opportunities. Loved the level of communication from the top.

    Cons

    No cons at this time.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at TIAA Bank (Jacksonville, FL) in January 2008.

    Interview

The Interview process varies from group to group. In our group is a somewhat casual conversation between the hiring manager and 1 or 2 other developers. When I was hired I was nervous and did somewhat poorly on the first interview. I was asked to come back for a second interview and so I brought a portfolio with me that showcased some of my work and was offered a position then and there (Contract to hire).

We typically keep the same interview process, but the questions differ based upon the candidates experience. Candidates who exaggerate on resumes are weeded out very quickly when you ask them to program by hand with pen and paper.

    Interview Questions

    • Describe how you would design and implement a case to parse and store a spreadsheet of data.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

    I did not negotiate.
