Tokio Marine Group – Mangrove Project

The Mangrove Project is a 100 year commitment by Tokio Marine to support social responsibility and the environment. Employees from across Tokio Marine companies participate in rebuilding, planting and supporting the mangrove communities throughout Southeast Asia. The goal is to enhance and sustain local community developments that are tied to the various benefits of the mangrove forests.

TMNAS offers opportunities for continuing education, training, and development through our Insurance Designations Program as well as development programs specific to each department (e.g. CPA, Actuarial study, IT certifications programs)

TMNAS also offers a Tuition Assistance Program to encourage and assist employees with their pursuit of higher education degrees. This program provides tuition reimbursement for Associate, Undergraduate, and Graduate Programs of Study.

All managers and above at TMNAS participate in an annual one day intensive off-site focused on leadership and management development.  Additionally, Managers have the opportunity to participate in a two day development training which focuses on best practices in performance management. It includes a 180 assessment which helps managers identify their managerial style and better adapt that to the needs of their direct reports.

TMNAS also offers a number of leadership development programs.  

The leadership development program at TMNAS is an intensive annual program that spans six months and includes project work, reading assignments, and offsite visits. Each year participants are chosen to be part of the program to develop and enhance their leadership skills. The participants work in teams for six months developing and delivering a real business process improvement plan. There are very high expectations of these participants. This program is designed to stretch and challenge people, asking them to try new things and work outside of their comfort zone. There are teams from TMNAS and also from our other group companies and this gives participants an opportunity to work with employees from all over North and South America. There is an expectation that participants will master the following skills by the end of this program: Strategic Thinking, Organizational Savvy, Teamwork, Communication Skills, and Initiative.

Next generation Leadership Program: Launched in 2015, this program takes graduates of the Leadership program and puts them through an intensive 16 month course focused on developing key talent across the Americas, helping them grow to new positions integrated with the company’s strategic business needs and succession plans.

Middle Global Leadership Development Program: This is a one week program aimed at developing global leadership skills of employees who are expected to become senior executives in 5-7 years. The program provides participants with an opportunity to:

  • Understand the history, strategy, structure and leadership of the Tokio Marine Group.
  • Understand and internalize the vision, mission, and values of the Tokio Marine Group, as embodied by the Good Company concept.
  • Explore and acquire Global Leadership Skills
  • Advance individual skills in cultural agility and awareness.
  • Build a network of colleagues across the Tokio Marine Group.

Another component of our recognition is our Annual Awards.  These include the All-Around Awesome Award, Collaboration Award, Customer-Centric Excellence Award, Good Company Award, and Leadership Award. Award winners receive a cash prize in addition to a crystal trophy.

We also want all of our employees to understand we value them every day; to this end, we have partnered with to offer our employees an array of discounts including those on restaurants, sunglasses, movies, clothing and more!

    I applied through college or university. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at TMNA Services (Bala Cynwyd, PA) in October 2015.


    Interview process was very straight forward. Then they called and offered me the position. After that I just had to go and get the drug screening and was brought in at the earliest date I could. Very quick and easy process.
