    "Great Opportunity for highly-motivated recruiters"

    Current Employee - Technical Recruiter
    Current Employee - Technical Recruiter

I have been working at Talentlab full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-interesting and challenging technical roles to work on
-biz dev team does a great job connecting us with amazing partners to work with
-lots of autonomy, very little micro-management as long as you're performing
    -driven by results, not metrics.
-specialize in whatever vertical, tech stack you prefer

    Cons

-lacking some protocols and systems for information exchange between business units opening the door for some administrative misses and communication slip ups. As we continue to grow, tighter processes will become a necessary evil.

    Advice to Management

    - while navigating our growth, keep the autonomy and results orientation in play rather than bogging down into metrics. Tighter processes don't have to lead to stunted freedom and creativity in getting the job done right.

    Recruiter Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Talentlab (Ottawa, ON (Canada)) in October 2013.

    Interview

Met with the VP in the fall after we did a phone interview. It was a relaxed convo over coffee, not a lot of standard interview questions. Mostly just told me about the company history and future plans, explained the role and expectations to me. I liked that the director took the time to really go through the expectations and how tough the job could be at times, and was honest about how long it would take to start getting commission. Ended with questions about my background, personal goals, and a lot of questions about my motivations. I got a call in about a week letting me know that I was going to get an offer.
