    Easy Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Tandem Diabetes (San Diego, CA) in February 2020.

Applied through employee referral. Every round was online/virtual due to COVID-19. The first round was a call with the hiring manager. The hiring manager provided company/team introductions and asked about my background, motivation, etc. There was a simple coding question. The second round was a design presentation. I had to prepare some slides to present to several panels. There were Q/A sessions after the presentation. The third and final round was 1-on-1 interviews. In some sessions, there were more than one interviewers. Technical questions including coding tests were easy and mediocre. Behavioral questions from cross-functional team managers were a little tough.
A few days after the final round, I missed a call from the recruiter. The recruiter left a message in my voice mail box, asking me to call back. I tried to reach the recruiter by call and email, but was not responded on the same day. When I called back the next day, the recruiter answered the phone and said they had decided to go with other candidate. It was a really frustrating moment. The recruiter could have left the message about the decision in my voice mail box. The recruiter could have just texted or emailed. I still don't understand what the recruiter actually intended. To humiliate? Extremely unpleasant.
