Interview
I had an interesting start to the process when the recruiter reached out via email to schedule a phone screen. After choosing a date/time he told me to call him (first time a recruiter didn’t call me), which I was happy to do. When I called him at the scheduled time, he was a bit confused about who I was and which role I applied to. He apologized for the mix up and said he was recruiting for a number of roles at the same time. Ultimately, he moved me forward to a formal interview and said he would have a prep call with me prior to it. He never reached out to arrange the prep call, so I sent an email offering my availability, but no reply was received. I had some questions to ask including the format of the interview, but I couldn’t get a hold of the recruiter to ask my questions. I had the interview regardless and enjoyed the conversation I had with the interviewer. I sent the interviewer a thank you email after the interview concluded. I hadn’t heard from the recruiter or interviewer after a few days so I sent one more follow up email to the recruiter, but no response was ever received. I didn’t even receive an auto rejection email. I completely understand if I wasn’t what they were looking for, but a quick email would have been greatly appreciated to close the loop. All in all it was a very strange recruiting process with a clear lack of communication. I would say it may not be worth putting in effort to apply to this company when the respect isn’t reciprocated, but hopefully it is different with other recruiters/departments. I have been involved in wonderful recruiting processes before in which I ultimately received a rejection, but still had a worthwhile time. Hopefully Tapestry can do the same for all candidates one day.Tell me about your work experience.
