Tata & Howard is interested in motivated environmental professionals dedicated to providing great client service and high quality, efficient work. If you are such an individual, join us!
Our business philosophy has always relied heavily on teamwork, and we believe our employees should share in Tata & Howard’s success in an appreciable way. That’s why we created an ESOP, which went into effect in October of 2014. Participation in the ESOP program makes all employees part owners of the company and allows them to reap the financial rewards of their hard work. As a result, employee-owners take more pride in their work and are incentivized to be more fastidious and industrious with their daily tasks.
We take pride in our personalized and professional services. The following testimonials are a first hand account of our level of service and experience.
“Tata & Howard is on the cutting edge in the water industry and is first in picking up new information.”
– Bob Wesneski, President of Avon Water Company
“As I couldn’t be happier with Tata & Howard’s level of service and performance, I want to accentuate that over the past 35 years of managing real estate, the team assembled by Joel Loitherstein is top notch. I have known Joel professionally for 20 years or so, and I cannot say enough about his ethics and ability to ensure proper due diligence on any task at hand.”
– James Curtin, Senior Vice President / CFO, First General Realty Corp. d/b/a Boston Development Group
“As the Superintendent of a Water District located in central Massachusetts and having a service population of 4,000 people, I don’t have the in-house expertise to meet the ever changing regulatory and operational demands and needs of today’s water industry. Since 1993, the personalized team effort at Tata & Howard has addressed this District’s needs and demands with the highest level of quality engineering, innovated solutions, personally tailored to meet our needs and at a very reasonable and competitive price. A perfect example of an innovated solution was the design and construction of the first in the nation Chlorine Dioxide application process into our slow sand filtration system to meet the compliance requirements of the Surface Water Treatment Rule. At the end of the day, this “win-win” innovated solution not only addressed the regulatory compliance demand but further saved this District hundreds of thousands of dollars thereby minimizing the financial impact on our rate payers.”
– Michael Knox, Superintendent, Cherry Valley and Rochdale Water District
“I have worked with Tata & Howard for several years while at another water company and now at the Regional Water Authority. During the past several years, the RWA has retained Tata & Howard, Inc. for a diverse range of projects from field inspection to high-level, long-range planning reports. While their ability to handle a diverse range of projects is impressive, their value to us on specialized projects, such as helping us to reduce our non-revenue water or analyzing the combining of service areas, is even more impressive. We are very pleased with the personalized client care we get from the President, senior engineers on projects, and the firm in general. RWA looks forward to continuing to build a valuable relationship with their team.”
– Larry Bingaman, President & CEO, Regional Water Authority
“The strong working relationship cultivated by Tata & Howard at all levels of the firm is exactly what I look for in an engineering firm. They demonstrated a personal investment in the success of our projects and our utility across the board.”
– Chris Cossette, Superintendent of the Wiscasset Water District
“Tata & Howard for the last two years has been working with the City of Worcester, DPW&P/Water Operations on updating our distribution hydraulic system software model as well as developing a long range Capital Efficiency Plan™. The degree of professionalism and the immediate response to accommodate our distribution system needs have been impressive.”
– Konstantin Eliadi, Director of Water & Sewer Operations, City of Worcester
“A consulting firm that deems success only when its client does.”
-Donald Vaughan, Valley Water Systems
“For the past three years, the City of Franklin staff members have worked closely with Paul Cote and his team. We are nearing the end of over $10,500,000 dollars worth of work and, although we all have struggled with a few things far beyond our control, we have a great success story going with regard to all our projects. I think that your crew deserves a lot of credit for keeping things on track with the numerous groups of complicated and challenging projects going on simultaneously. This has taken a lot of time and energy and should not go unnoticed. We are all very appreciative.”
-Brian Sullivan, Director of Municipal Services, City of Franklin, NH
I have been working at Tata & Howard full-time (More than 3 years)
The possibilities at this firm are endless and Tata & Howard likes to promote from within, thereby encouraging employees to grow professionally and grow with the firm. The open door policy makes for a great environment where all employees can feel comfortable with everyone from engineer level to co-president.
The ESOP creates a wonderful team culture where employees take pride in their work and are happy to be owners. Management encourages employees to speak their mind and share opinions. Benefits are great, competitive salaries, and the company is very flexible with people needing time off/schedule adjustments.
As with many consulting firms, we have slow periods of work and very hectic periods of work. Distributing workload differently may help balance these times out.
Advice to Management
Keep encouraging employee owners to be proud of their work and to speak their minds to help the company develop. Continue to promote a team atmosphere where we can work efficiently.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tata & Howard (Marlborough, MA) in November 2012.
I received a phone call from the HR Manager, who was very helpful and friendly. She made the whole process very comfortable and painless. I met with her first, then the VP/Business Development Manager, and then the President. Everyone was open and engaging, and very interested in my ideas and background.
