    • 100% remote company - not brick and mortar with some people working remote or sometimes working remote.
    • Great culture. They have and continue to build a culture of collaboration and connectedness.
    • You get to trial out the company (paid) before you make a decision if it's really for you or not.
    • Great benefits.

None that I have run into at this time.

    Easy Interview

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at TaxJar in January 2020.

I applied online. They required a cover letter, which is annoying in itself especially when all of that information can be found on a resume. About a week after I applied I received an email from the HR admin that they're "in the process of narrowing down candidates" - I got about 3 of these emails about a week apart until the last one, where later the same day I was told that they wanted me to speak to HR for the job. I set up time to speak, and the call went well and was told I'd hear back in a day. or so if the hiring manager wanted to speak with me. I heard back that they 'didn't want to move forward' despite that I was overqualified for the position, and they want to keep my resume on file for future consideration for a 'comparable position'... which is a racket every time you hear it and I know they won't contact me. I feel like this company wasted weeks of my time with the 'narrowing down candidates' updates and then not to even have a chance to speak to the hiring manager after that was ridiculous. This company just wastes your time, and then expects you to put in time for their "trial period". I also learned that they haze new hires by making them sing at their first "employee retreat" so I likely dodged a bullet.
