Great base salary, great commission opportunities and good benefits. The products are amazing and everyone want to sell what they believe in. It is a family owned business and they posses a true love for education. They compensate fairly and their expectations are fair.
While some management truly does care, others do not. It apparently does not matter whether you exceed your goals or not, they can turn on you. They request too much paperwork and sales force info to be able to complete your job properly.
Advice to Management
keep those folks that are exceeding their goals and get rid of the ones that have not made it in over 3 years. Just because someone is sitting at home posting in their jammies everyday on sales-force doesn't mean they are out working near as hard as those not entering into sales-force, but exceeding goals.
I applied online. I interviewed at Teacher Created Materials, Inc (Huntington Beach, CA) in May 2017.
After I submitted my application, I received an e-mail from an intern from the HR department who asked me to pick a time for a phone screening using Calendly. I did so, and she called me at the appointed time. She went over my experience, then asked me several questions and typed up my answers. She also asked my salary requirements, and I told her and asked if that was in the range they had budgeted, but she said she didn't know. The next day I got an e-mail from the hiring manager asking when I'd be available for a phone interview. We agreed on a date and time a few days later, and she called at the appointed time. She explained that she works remotely, and that was why she was conducting interviews by phone. She also asked about my experience and asked a few more questions, and asked me if I had any questions. I asked about the salary and stated what I was looking for. She said she didn't know what was budgeted, that HR decides that, but she thought it was less than I was asking for. She then told me that if I was selected for the next stage, I would be invited for an on-site interview, or if not, I would be informed by e-mail. About two weeks later I got an e-mail that they had decided not to proceed with my candidacy.
On March 2nd, 2017 Teacher Created Materials shut down the company for #ReadAcrossAmerica day and employees read to students, completed campus projects, including painting and a makeover of the teachers’ outdoor lounge, and gave out free backpacks.
