TNP has a commitment to community involvement that supports the corporation’s strategic business goals as well as our vision. We believe it is important to invest in the communities that we serve in order to contribute our part to maintaining a high quality of life where our employees work and live. We’ve created a business culture that says it’s good to share your time and talent. When we apply the same commitment in serving our clients, we can make a significant difference in our communities.
TAKING AN ALTERNATE ROUTE
A small group of TNP employees – made up of a designer, a landscape architect, and a civil engineer – joined heads to create and implement our firm’s first ever Bicycle Program. The goal of the program is to enrich our community through the many benefits that come from integrating cycling as a means of transportation. Whether someone needs to run errands, drop something off at the City, visit a client, or grab a quick bite to eat, company bicycles are kept on-site and are available any time for employee use. Each bike is equipped with all the necessary gear – helmets, bike locks, bike racks for carrying plans, and messenger bags for carrying laptops. The bicycles are top notch and not only are they designed to be used in an urban environment, they’re also nice and easy to operate!
We see our Bicycle Program as a great opportunity for us to improve our community. Other advantages about this program include clean air accountability, ease of mobility within the city, and employee camaraderie.
Bicycles Inc., a local bike shop inFort Worth, helped us in getting everything we needed for this program. They also assisted in a seminar that was given to all employees when the program was introduced. The seminar was very informative and covered areas including: how to operate the bikes and accompanying equipment, bike and helmet fit, and safety and rider awareness.
Since launching the program, the bicycles have been used by our employees just as intended – to ride to lunch, ride to client meetings, attend to errands, and simply for health and fitness purposes. Employees who have not been on a bicycle in years have rediscovered an easy and healthy way to transport themselves around downtown and nearby parks.
We are very pleased with the benefits that our Bicycle Program brings to not only our employees, but more importantly, our community. This program is just another way to help us in accomplishing our mission: To improve our communities and meet our clients’ needs by doing the right things, right.
