Lunchtime is no joke here at Tenable! We have a variety of food trucks that come visit our Headquarters in Columbia, MD weekly!
Our innovative development team gets to build modern web applications to defend the newest vulnerabilities. You can help shape Tenable’s next great product offering. That’s right, we’re working on something new and looking for software engineers to build it from the ground up.
We give the power to every member of the team when we invite all developers, engineers, and researchers to our own internal developer off site hackathon, where they compete to create the next great thing – a functional prototype, related to our technology, that makes our operations better. Your ideas may become a reality – and even change the future of security.
We provide an exciting opportunity to gain valuable hands-on knowledge and experience, backed by the support and resources of a market leader and global employer. You’ll work closely with industry experts and innovators who will challenge you to learn, design, explore and grow each day – and don’t be surprised when you exceed your expectations. We also offer the opportunity to unwind at events like movie nights, bowling, sporting events and much more.
I have been working at Tenable full-time (Less than a year)
Great atmosphere and a feel of a company trying to keep up with todays technologies and AGILE process. Developers are encouraged to cross train and are capable of building out complete stack with little or no help from devops team after initial training. Things get done quickly, you are encouraged to suggest and take control of your projects. Management support is there in form of time and training. Good feedback from the team and clear vision as to where the company is going.
Like any big company that has been around for a while there are challenges. Its not easy to switch from on premise thinking to a cloud vision for most IT teams today. Yet there is a willingness to work together and overcome the challenges.
Advice to Management
Keep doing a great job and listen to feedback as you are doing now.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tenable (New York, NY) in March 2017.
I was VERY HAPPY with the service that I was given by the company, especially with Bethany Perlman, who was very helpful and accomodating through each stage of the interview process. The interview process moved quickly as well. After I applied, I got an email within two days to schedule a phone interview with her. After that, I had a online coding test through hackerrank to complete. Within two days of that I received an invite to a google hangout interview with two members of the team. That happened the following Tuesday and it seemed to go well and was a really awesome experience. I received a rejection email two days after the google hangout interview but was extremely happy with the recruitment process at tenable and really learned a lot!
