Texas Trust Credit Union – Why Work For Us?

Texas Trust exists for one simple purpose: To help build brighter financial futures. Our members are our friends, neighbors, and business leaders, and we've been helping them to live brighter since 1936.

Because we know that education is the foundation of bright financial futures, in 2011 we launched a program to give back to area students. A Spirit Debit Rewards card comes with any Texas Trust checking account and with every swipe, Texas Trust donates to the school, district, or organization depicted on the card. In December 2015, we celebrated a milestone when we reached the $1,000,000 mark and with the help of our members we are looking forward to our second million!

Because brighter financial futures begin with a little incentive, we believe our members deserve to be rewarded too. That's why in June 2015 we created our Checking20 account. Eligible members receive up to $20 in bonuses each month by simply doing the things we all do: financing a vehicle, shopping with a credit card, and buying a home. As of March 2017, we've given $924,777 back to our members and we can't wait to celebrate another $1,000,000 milestone.

Because we make decisions with the interests of the greater community at heart and due to our commitment to service "so great our members will brag about it", Texas Trust has grown into a network of neighborhood branches with assets worth over one billion dollars. Despite our phenomenal growth, we maintain the spirit of a member-owned, personal finance cooperative with the same small-town, friendly service we've offered our members since opening our doors. Serving the counties of Dallas, Tarrant, Henderson, and majority of Ellis and Johnson counties, Texas Trust is ready to show you what living brighter is all about.

The Texas Trust Way is more than a motto for Texas Trust. It's the mantra of doing more inside and outside the credit union doors.

I worked at Texas Trust Credit Union full-time (More than 5 years)

I felt this was a great company to work for. The management seemed to care care about a work/life balance. If you are willing to work there is the opportunity for advancement. Good offering of benefits.

There is a reluctance to hire more people. Most of the people I worked with seemed to be to being doing multiple peoples jobs. There is a reluctance to get rid of bad managers. This does not help getting the work done.
The health insurance is very difficult to use, lots of hoops and paperwork to go through for every claim.

    Advice to Management

Carefully review the work your employees are doing, not their job titles. For those that are doing multiple jobs think about spreading the work or hiring another person, burnout is a real factor in who stays and who goes. With the merger coming up you will HAVE to hire more hands to keep the company running.
If you have managers that are constantly being complained about or who are running good people off seriously think about getting rid of that manager, they are not helping you get to your goals.
