Technical Account Manager
Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at The Brixton Group (Jersey City, NJ) in Sep 2018
InterviewThe fact that it's in Journal Square should have warned me right away. Alas, I went anyway. There is a small lobby with techno bleating from a small speaker. I told the receptionist I was interviewing for the Brixton Group and she acted confused. Alarms bells are going off in my head. I saw three early/mid-20s interviewees sitting around with clipboards. More warning signs. I'm then called into an even tinier room by the hiring manager. He is fidgety and avoids eye contact. At no point does he say what the job entails, but throws a bunch of buzzwords like clients and management around. He draws a "diagram" which is scribble scrabble. He then states that the next round of interviews would be tomorrow, and would be all day. He leaves no time for me to ask any questions and shakes my hand. I have no idea what the position is, nor do I want to know. I know a scam when I see one.Interview
