The people who worked there were all very nice and fun to be around. Everyone (except upper level management) is extremely hardworking and motivated. The hotel itself, is gorgeous and you get to meet a lot of important guests.
The management can be very lazy and unprofessional. You work long hours and have an unpredictable schedule. You also have to pay for parking, which is expensive downtown. Starting pay is pretty low and advancement can take a long time. There is a lot of favoritism.
Advice to Management
The more you invest in your employees, the more reliable they are and want to do a good job. Management needs to realize that they are role models for their employees. If you go out to smoke every 15 minutes as a the Director of Operations, why shouldn't everyone else?
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at The Brown Hotel Louisville (Louisville, KY) in August 2016.
I had to speak with the HR department and take a personality test. Then I had to interview with the front office manager and then the account manager. Finally, I had to interview with the GM of the hotel.
