I worked at The Common Man Family of Restaurants full-time
They are a great company to learn from. The training process is very long and in depth but all very necessary and helpful for when you get on the floor. They reward you for your hard work in different ways and depending one which restaurant you work at, they will treat you good.
Like many other restaurants, Common Man looks out for their senior staff, if you have been working there for a while they will treat you great but for the newer employees you really need to prove yourself; they usually get the bad sections all the time and worse side work. As long as you deal with that for a season or two it improves.
Advice to Management
It is a great place to work and make money but need to work on treating all employees, even the new ones equally.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at The Common Man Family of Restaurants (Meredith, NH) in June 2013.
Met with hiring manager to discuss my background and knowledge of working in a kitchen. It was very casual and quick. It is a good summer job and gave me more experience in the restaurant industry.
