I worked at The Creative Group full-time (More than 3 years)
- Got to participate in a major event creating and editing presentations
- TCG made the process very easy for me and made sure I received payment in a timely manner
- Really appreciated that the recruiter I worked with cared about my work experience and interests to find the perfect fit, rather than the first thing that came across her desk
- Communication was occasionally mishandled, mostly with Robert Half's corporate office, not TCG per se. They had some fairly rude and unhelpful people on the phone when I needed to amend a timesheet for overtime.
Advice to Management
Keep up the excellent work digging deep into each contractor's background to unlock their talents and finding a solution for companies. Try to keep your recruiters for a bit longer; the tenure seems very short, and over the years, the newer people seem more overwhelmed and less motivated.
Advice to Robert Half beyond TCG: although a contractor is not a "customer", anyone in the company who interacts with contractors needs to be a competent communicator. Especially for tech jobs, we run the market, and you cannot afford to scare off talent with obnoxious and unhelpful payroll staff. Monitor calls, put a (better) system in place, and ask contractors for feedback if you don't already.
I applied online. I interviewed at The Creative Group in June 2017.
I applied to work for the Creative Group as an Account Coordinator. Less than an hour later I received a phone call and the recruiter told me that while I didn't have enough experience for the role, they would be interested in trying to "help" me by trying to find me a position with one of their clients. She told me that since I am a recent graduate I wouldn't be able to find anything other than a contract position, and when I informed her that I was not interested in working with them she said that it would be "extremely difficult" for me to find a job without them. I received a call later from another recruiter and when I informed her that I had already told another recruiter that I was not interested, she again tried to hint that I would not be able to find a job without their help. Afterwards, I received a LinkedIn request from the same recruiter, and I have a feeling that I will continue to hear from them in the future, Recent graduates, look out. They are looking for people who are worried and try to prey on your insecurities and convince you that you will never find a job without their help. Absolutely no interest in working with or working for this company in the future.
