I have been working at The Grand America Hotel full-time (Less than a year)
Great environment Fun people to work with $14-18/hour depending on tips and commission Solid benefits for full-time employees
Nothing significant, only have to fill 20 word minimum requirement Very active job that requires extended periods of activity on your feet Interaction with occasionally unpleasant/difficult guests
Advice to Management
Leave training of new employees to be handled by current, experienced employees Let department supervisors and managers give feedback to employees rather than making uninformed judgements
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Grand America Hotel (Salt Lake City, UT) in December 2012.
The application has to be mailed or faxed. There is no option to submit online (Aug 2013). The interview focused mainly on availability, but did not include any explorations of previous work behaviors. The hotel has strict dress standards, and so best dress is expected for the interview. The interview was scheduled within two weeks of applying, and an offer was extended a week later.
