I worked at The Grand Del Mar full-time (More than a year)
You become part of a grand family! All the departments work together and your team really does become your family away from home. Management is supportive of helping you grow to your maximum potential with the training and guidance given to you. I wish I still worked there!
They are strict and go by the rules, which is not really a "con" since that is what has kept them at the top.
Advice to Management
Keep up with the great training and the shops, it is an invaluable experience that will help help all the employees later in their career.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Grand Del Mar (Del Mar, CA) in March 2012.
I applied online and walked in my resume. Received a call for an interview two weeks later and met with three supervisors (Chef Concierge, Director of Rooms, Assistant Director of HR) back to back for individual interviews. The interviews were mostly behavioral so they asked the simple questions of why you would want to work at the hotel at why you would be a good this position specifically. There were some scenario questions as well.
