The Mars Agency – Why Work For Us?

undefined

Berry Gordy felt it when he founded Motown. Henry Ford infused it into his Model T. And following the lead of Detroit’s great pioneers, The Mars Agency is powered by it. What is the fuel-injected secret ingredient? Soul. It’s in the sound, the rhythm and the steady beat of steel. And in this percussive, churning city we feel a gritty pride in.

Detroit runs freely through the veins of The Mars Agency and continues to propel us beyond 8 Mile to the farthest corners of the Earth. Today, The Mars Agency is a fully integrated, global industry leader in shopper marketing with shopper-friendly offices in eight U.S. cities as well as London & Toronto. From the D to the world and still on the move. And unlike other marketing agencies that have something to prove, we have a lot to offer. We create impact.

I worked at The Mars Agency full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really collaborative, hard working people. Some very definite smarts but not across all the people. Very nice people overall. They try and make sure you are happy there and give you work you are interested in

    Cons

Repeating the same thing all the time to clients
Not much new thinking or creative initiatives
Small agency so when they lose business it's bad for a number of people

    Advice to Management

    Don't be so top heavy
Invest in junior people they are the future of your company

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at The Mars Agency.

    Interview

Interview specifics were clear as to time and who you would be interviewing. Arrived a few minutes early. Waited 15 minutes in an empty lobby. Someone finally noticed I was there. First interview was professional; second was not. The interviewer spent the first half telling me about his accomplishments, one uping anything I said when I tried to steer the interview to my qualifications, and comparing who I knew at my current employer. Second half was the interviewer checking his phone. Very off-putting.
