I worked at The Medicines Company full-time (More than 8 years)

I worked at MDCO from 2007 - 2015 and enjoyed the experience. I worked in technical development, manufacturing and supply chain. What I enjoyed most was the faith by the company in me to do what I was hired for as well as offering me opportunities to work outside of the direct areas of my job. Chaos is a good thing in this company, as it is fast paced and innovation that drives this. The innovation is the heartbeat of this company. The only reason I left this company was that I traveled 60 miles each way on a daily basis and after 8 years, it became difficult.

Because MDCO is a small company, it manages its budgets very tight. In a fast passed innovative environment, sometimes the budget approval does not move as fast as the projects.

    Advice to Management

Listen more closely to the people in the trenches doing the heavy lifting. This is a comment i make knowing that ALL companies could do this better. My experience is that I had access to the president/CFO and was heard.

    Average Interview

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at The Medicines Company (Parsippany, NJ).

Overall it was a great interview process. I spoke first with a recruiter and had a general conversation about my past experience, my current role/company. Then I had a second phone interview with HR Recruiter & Hiring Manager. They followed up in a week, requesting an in-person interview on site with original recruiter, Hiring Manager, a Manager who worked with him and another HR Sr Manager. It was an informative, well structured interview and process which I personally felt very comfortable. Awaiting another interview, and hopefully an offer. Great Company!
