The Methodist Hospitals – Why Work For Us?

Methodist is a not-for-profit, community-based healthcare system that is governed by a 20 member board of directors. Stewards of our mission, we reinvest in our cities and towns through charitable giving, community education programs, support services, screenings, and by ensuring quality care to our most vulnerable and underserved citizens. We strive to be a part of our community as a strong advocate for its continued physical, emotional and economic well-being. Our primary service areas are Lake and Porter Counties.

Become a V.I.P…Volunteering in Partnership!

Our volunteers are a diverse group of individuals who dedicate their time and passion to Methodist Hospitals. They come from all walks of life but are united by a common desire to help others. From teens to seniors, they have chosen to become V.I.P’s— Volunteers In Partnership with Methodist Hospitals.

Our volunteers support the hospital’s goal of providing the very best care for our patients and their families. Helping is what they are all about … whether it’s supporting nurses and other staff in their work, staffing one of the gift shops, or just lending a hand to make a patient feel more comfortable… our volunteers are honored to help patients and their families face what can be difficult times.

As a volunteer, you’ll provide vital support and assist with many of the services that contribute to the care and comfort for our patients. Not only will you help others, you will gain a sense of accomplishment and pride. You will also have a chance to meet people of like mind and simply have fun doing it!

Our volunteers wear their pink, red and blue jackets proudly. If you want to make a difference in the lives of others, then we are holding a jacket just for you.

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at The Methodist Hospitals (Merrillville, IN) in October 2014.

Very straightforward and thorough the entire way. HR was very helpful and answered all my questions, made me feel like it would be a great organization to be a part of.
