I have been working at The Miriam Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)
As a Lifespan hospital there is a large overhead looking out for employee health etc.
As a research assistant, the only way to move up is to obtain a higher degree, and even then their might not be a huge financial incentive to stay.
Small pay increase per year. I only make 1.30/hr more than I did 4 years ago when I started.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at The Miriam Hospital (Providence, RI) in July 2012.
There was a phone call to schedule interview. The interview itself was laid back, formal-type of thing, and asked about previous experience, and ability to handle work. There is also a slide test for hematology that needs to be done.
