I applied online. I interviewed at The Remote Company (South Africa)

    Interview

I applied to The Remote Company around mid-June and received an email the following day stating the team was looking forward to getting to know me better through a Test Assessment. So far it was a great experience and I truly appreciated the fact that I got a response instead of being ghosted for a change. I spent all weekend doing the assessment and sent it back to them about 3 days later (the deadline was a week). 2 days later, I got a reply saying that once the team reviews the assessment, they will get back to me with feedback and next steps. I truly believe I did a good job on the assessment and I had high hopes at this point but unfortunately, I didn't hear back. I waited about a week to follow up, as I wanted to give them a chance to do so first. After my follow-up email, I received a response almost 3 weeks later saying that the team has been off the grid in a workstation in Istanbul and they were going to Venice and that the position is now on hold (the person I had been communicating with did not sound apologetic for her lack of communication). 2 weeks later I received another email from them saying that they won't proceed with my application. The communication with this company was horrific. Honestly, I would have preferred to have been ghosted from the beginning and not wasted a weekend doing this assessment when they had no intentions of giving me a chance.

Test assignment for Product Designer For the test assignment, we would like you to create a simple UI for resources management application. The application should have two pages: 1. “admin” - resource management page 2. "home" page where all added resources would be listed Create an admin part where you would have an UI to upload PDF, .zip file, HTML snippet or any image. HTML is needed. There is no need to implement any behavior, instead please explain how it could work and how the UI would change once the resource is uploaded. HTML is not needed, it might be a Sketch or Figma file. Create the home part where uploaded resources would be visible for the end user. HTML is needed. Please explain your decisions. Bonus points for using Tailwind CSS Deliverable: Link to a GitHub repository with the project files (HTML, CSS, images) Please upload the final result to Netlify (it is free) and provide us a link Do not send any .zip or any other files. If you have Figma or Sketch files, please use internal sharing features Time: 1 week
