The Renaissance Center is a wonderful non-profit arts center offering great arts and education activities, classes and events to the community. The arts staff is very dedicated, talented and creative. The center offers a lot as far as personal growth and creative outlets.
Management of The Renaissance Center does not have the same enthusiasm or interest in the creative arts as the arts staff. I don't think they've been to any of the programs and don't often check the website or marketing efforts. Management does not communicate with the staff, answer questions or offer constructive direction. All employees must clock in and out (even for lunch - even at their desk checking emails). Management has created an atmosphere of distrust and often pits staff against each other.
Advice to Management
Management should engage in the center's programs and the efforts of the arts staff. As a non-profit arts center, they should attract some interested professionals to the Board of Directors to create a positive atmosphere of promoting the arts.
