  • The Sterling Group is pleased to announce Joseph M. Scimia has joined the company as Senior Vice President General Counsel. Scimia is moving from the Real Estate Group at Ice Miller, Indianapolis, where he was a Partner representing developers, contractors, lenders, landlords, tenants and property owners in a variety of real estate transactions. “Joe’s background spans a broad spectrum of Real Estate law and successful transactions. He understands how to provide the kind of client service and counsel on which The Sterling Group has built its reputation,” said Lance Swank, president, The Sterling Group. “He’s a seasoned leader with outstanding judgment and the ability to overcome complex transactional challenges.     I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at The Sterling Group (Evansville, IN) in September 2018.


    I was called for my first interview and it was easily scheduled around my schedule. I went in and immediately felt welcome. I was not nervous at all and the Manager was very friendly. The interview lasted about an hour. The next day I was called for a second interview with the district manager and again they were more than willing to work around my schedule. I went in that same week and met with the district manager and yet again, i felt immediately welcome and not nervous one bit. I received a phone call later that same day to let me know I was hired and I felt like I had just become part of a family.
