Think Together – Why Work For Us?

In 1994, a group of mothers decided they'd had enough. Gangs and drugs in the Shalimar neighborhood of Costa Mesa had created an unsafe environment for their kids. So, they reached out for help.

Community leaders came together to open the doors of Shalimar Learning Center, a safe space for the neighborhood kids to come after school and get help with homework.Over 100 kids showed up on the first day!

What began as a single neighborhood center has grown into programs in over 400 California schools – from San Diego to San Francisco – serving over 150,000 students. Founded in 1997, Think Together partners with schools to change the odds for kids. Think Together delivers nationally-recognized expanded learning programs and school improvement, offered through affiliate partner Orenda Education.

Over 20 years, Think Together has built a roadmap to support student success. Curriculum and activities are aligned with what students are learning during the academic school day. Each program is designed using data-driven solutions to help kids reach proficiency and achievement levels necessary to progress through school and prepare for college and career.

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about education and love working with kids.

Join the Think Together Team and change the odds for kids. Think Together employs more than 2,500 staff statewide. From frontline program leaders to administrative positions in regional offices, there are countless opportunities to invest in the lives of California’s students and develop a career in education.

I have been working at Think Together full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I love working at Think Together. I have been here for a year and still learn something new every day. I am constantly challenged, encouraged, and supported through it all by both my supervisor as well as my peers. I am surrounded by people who not only care but are competent. I have worked in non-profits for the past 9-10 years and there are just a different caliber of people here both doing the work as well as those in charge. I trust my leadership and their vision. Even on those days when I have worked too long and too hard or when I get frustrated, at the end of the day, I have a phenomenal team and love what I do and who I work for.

    Cons

The workload can be very heavy but there is a lot of flexibility and culture benefits that make it worthwhile. It would also be great to have better benefits like a 401K and more health insurance options.
