I have been working at Thomas P. Gohagan and Company full-time (Less than a year)
*Set schedule from 9 AM - 5 PM
*Everyone dresses professional
*This is really a classic office. For me, that's great - but I can see how that would be a "con" for some.
*While there isn't a ton of room for growth, they look inside the company before hiring from the outside.
*Always learning about new places and programs.
*Good employees receive a raise each year.
*Good vacation time - even if you used all of your paid days, they will normally let you off anyways just unpaid.
*Everyone is super nice
*Mr. & Mrs. Gohagan make themselves accessible and are kind to all employees.
*Overall, this is a position for people who are okay with a regular, rather old-fashioned workplace environment doing the typical 9-5 job. For me, it's perfect!
*There isn't a ton of room for growth.
*A lot of use of paper and handwriting. Again, not a problem to me but I can see how it would be for others.
*Some employees slack a lot, and there isn't any accountability for those employees.
*Hourly employees aren't always treated as kindly as salaried employees.
Advice to Management
*Update the computer system
*Better reward staff who excel from those who slack and make others pick that slack up.
