Great people, fun environment, lots of cool company events. I worked in the call center for about 7 months. The managers do a lot to keep people motivated. It is isn't easy being on the phones for 8 hours per day, but they try to keep it upbeat. The annual company fishing trip is AWESOME. Bonuses (if you can make it) are paid every two weeks.
Call center work is not easy. Not a whole lot of cons with the company. It's very clique-ish there. Lot of people are related; date one another, married, etc. Promotions are more who you know than what you know.
Advice to Management
Look at the talent you have at your disposal
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Thompson Creek Window Co. (Lanham, MD).
Phone interview with HR, then interview with hiring manager. There is a personality test that you are required to take. The test tells whether or not you are suited for phone sales, but it also identifies how you handle stress and pressure. The test requires that you pick words that best describe you. Standard test, standard entry level interview questions.
