Our diversity and inclusion councils play a crucial role in aligning our global diversity and inclusion strategy with regional priorities. These councils also help ensure diversity and inclusion events are relevant, culturally appropriate and focused on the business needs of a particular region.

LEARNING FOCUS

An inclusive workplace leverages the strengths of all of our employees and that is why we build these behaviors into everything we do. From new hire orientation to management and leadership training to an online portal accessible to all employees, we focus on developing global mindsets and creating an understanding of diversity and inclusion throughout our organization.

MEASUREMENT

Our diversity and inclusion strategy is reviewed annually to ensure progress on objectives. Additionally we monitor results of our diversity and inclusion index which is part of our employee engagement survey; the number of managers trained on inclusive management behaviors; and key metrics around representation, hires and promotions.

    Large company anonymity, decent benefits, progressive values, good at communicating overall vision

    Cons

    Not enough engagement with employees to learn about how teams are functioning. Managers are often in different offices, so they don't see what goes on.

    Advice to Management

    Reach out to employees personally and set up regular meetings to discuss pain points rather than relying on a general open door policy.

    I applied online. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Ann Arbor, MI).

    Interview

    Interview process was quick and relatively painless. Recruiter contacted me after I submitted my application and wanted me to come in for an interview the following week. Before my interview, I had to complete a 8-12 hour course and get certified. The course was free and went over customer service, diagnosing, technical support and managing day to day activities. I was able to complete in about 8 hours and afterwards a time was set up for my interview. The interview took about 3 hours and included a tour of the facilities, job shadowing, cognitive assessment, and finally a one-on-one interview.
