I have been working at Thomsons Online Benefits full-time (Less than a year)
I wanted to be the first on Glass Door to congratulate Stephen Read three months in after taking over from me as CEO. Having worked closely with him in the 6 months before he succeeded me in the role in July, I was certain and confident that Stephen would successfully continue the work which we have carried out over the last 17 years at Thomsons, and not only continue it, but develop the business success and strategy to new higher levels of brilliance.
I am delighted to report that my confidence in Stephen was very well placed, and he has embraced the role of CEO with the gusto, passion and PINKNESS that all Thomsons People, our clients, our partners and our new owner Mercer, would expect to see.
It makes me incredibly proud to see him flourish and grow as each week passes. Being CEO in any business is a tough gig, and at Thomsons that is no different. Stephen dedicates a huge amount of time, giving fully of himself every day, to be the best CEO he can be. A brilliant start in your role Stephen and I know there is so much more to come!
Sorry, I just cannot fault in any way Stephen's performance as CEO of Thomsons, he has really made an excellent start in the role.
Advice to Management
Don't leave it all to Stephen, being CEO can be a very lonely gig sometimes, so check in on him, see how he is, and buy him the odd beer from time to time - he is a human too :-)
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Thomsons Online Benefits (Burlingame, CA) in July 2015.
Spoke for about 30min with an account executive based out of California. He was nice and friendly, and told me he wanted to move forward in the process. Upon being contacted by some ladies in the British office, they asked me to join them on a "online" conference very early in the morning, which ended up not working, and we resorted to just talking on the phone through a conference call. The call went just fine, we did a role play in which I was "pretending" to be an SDR for their company. Upon finishing the role play, they said I had done an excellent job and said they'd stay in touch. Never heard back from them... super rude and unprofessional.
