    Pros

Once you can gain employment, you control your own destiny and the sky is the limited.
without any marine background you will start at the bottom, but you have wonderful advantages of moving up to either a chief engineer, or a vessel captain. I started as a wiper and within 4 years I made chief. the further you advance, the more money you earn. I started out making $100.00/day, and when I left twelve years later, I was making $600.00/day. Hard work, great pay.

    Cons

You must be willing to work a 28 day on duty, 14 day off schedule. Lots of heavy lifting, working in the gulf of mexico on a supply vessel servicing oil rigs. Real hard work, but the benefits are second to none.

    Advice to Management

    Great management.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Tidewater (Amelia, LA) in December 2013.

    Interview

Entry level interview was comprehensive as it was an offshore position in close quarters. Complete psy testing and onboarding. Physical and drug test. A lot of interviewing questions about how life on a ship would be like for you and if you think you would be able to handle it.
