I applied online. I interviewed at Tokyo Academics (Japan)

The first interview seemed to be with an employee who was maybe in charge of recruitment screening . I was asked some rather generic questions and the interviewer moved on with no concern for the answer. It was in no way a traditional interview. You should expect it to be a filtering process where their aim is to make a 'video personal statement' almost... I guess so it can be taken up the chain and reviewed before the next stage.
