I worked at Toxikon full-time
Great organization. The company struggles competing against the Biotech and Pharma organizations within the Cambridge, MA market. Overall, Toxikon focuses on the science and quality in their studies they provide to their sponsors. Delays in completing studies are due to Study Director turnover. CEO is excellent, one of few today who truly cares about his employees and the organization. He understands their reputation relies on the science the organization provides. A great bootstrap success story. Great experience, great people. The work environment is collaborative and Dept, Heads do a great job. Toxikon is a leader in E&L work and it's analytical department staff is excellent.
Difficult for Toxkon to compete in compensation with Biotech organizations being so competitive in the Cambridge market. For a small organization Toxikon does offer a competitive health plan. Work schedule can be rigid but with proper notification I found it wasn't inflexible.
I applied online. I interviewed at Toxikon (Bedford, MA) in July 2017.
Applied online and was asked to take an online assessment. The online assessment was 4 parts - an SAT like portion, 2 nearly identical personality tests (to check for consistency, I suppose), and a final personality assessment. Came in to office to interview on two separate occasions and met with some very nice people. During one visit, I met with the CEO, who seemed a bit distracted at times and was mostly dismissive of my responses. After a bit of a delay with no communication, I was offered a different (i.e. more senior) role at a salary level commensurate with the position I applied for. Thanks but no thanks!
