I worked at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing full-time (More than 3 years)
Competitive Salary, yearly raises, 401K partial matching, good benefits package. Great if you like to travel. Very professional, respectful work atmosphere. No finger pointing.
Unspoken (sometimes explicit) expectation of long work hours. Lack of sufficient manpower for job scope, especially considering the relationship between the US and Japanese sides of the company. Very slow, arduous process to enact any meaningful change.
Advice to Management
Hire more people, so that team members are working closer to 40 hours per week, not 60! Listen to your subordinates!
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing.
While at a SHPE conference, talked to the guy at the Toyota booth. He scheduled an interivew for me the next day. Multiple people were interviewing during the same time-slot. He asked about general questions about my resume. Past experiences. Received a call back within the hour of the interview with an offer.
