  1. Sales Team Interview

    Anonymous Employee in United States
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview
    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Trailhead Marketing (United States)

    Interview

My first impression was "Wow what a beautiful building, bet it has an amazing history!" but beauty is only skin deep and history will always progress. I walked in and Jeff greeted me in a very courteous manner ( I can see why he's HR) and asked me to have a seat. The office is really nice (open plan) and you can tell their equipment is top-notch so no issues there. A Johnny Cash album was playing at a respectable volume (nice). I was joined by two others and we were led down the hall to the sales office. Same deal here, an open planned office with top-notch equipment. This time the music wasn't so nice (hip-hoppy stuff/ dub-step IDK) IMO but hey, to each their own. The CEO seems like a nice enough guy, the kinda guy you might not like right away but the kind that could grow on you. It was a group style interview, the first question that was asked was "rate your ability to read a script" (tip: the higher you rate yourself the more likely you'll be to go first.) I rated myself high so I had to go first -_- \
This is more or less the script:
Hello (client name) my name is (your name). WAIT
(tip: you'll see bold red text indicating the pause, he'll try to trick you by waiting for ages so just relax and WAIT). Notes: you'll see erroneous mmms in the script, he wants you to stretch it a bit. The "* *" I'm adlibbing as I can't fully remember the script)
I'mmmmm *looking for a real estate agent ........ammmm I talking to one* WAIT.
(he WAITS maybe 40-60 secs sometimes before he says his piece, it's just awkward but you just sit and WAIT)
*I'm blanking out on the next bit but it's not super important it's some guff about how we get calls from people selling/promoting stuff too.* WAIT-Chuckle
(he WAITS maybe 40-60 secs sometimes before he says his piece, it's just awkward but you just sit and WAIT)
Note:"___" are short pauses as to not "burn up the material"
*I'm with Trailhead Marketing___ and we are offering promotions_____ with no commitments in your area. I have a spot in (city name) that's been getting a ton of traffic and i would like to direct some of it to you.*Blah blah blah*
At this point, you stop and the next person reads.
So I'll be the first to say I messed this bit up, as I was pretty nervous because I was first and messed up the erroneous "mmmms and ammmms" as I didn't really understand why they were there. Then he tricked me by waiting for 40-60 seconds (seemed like a lifetime) on one of the WAIT parts. So at this point, I'm a bit of a wreck, stumbling over words and a number of other flubs.
Definitely not my finest hour but I hope my notes are helpful and you'll learn from my mistakes #HumansBeingBros.
    Interview

How many of you are on FaceBook? TLDR: LIE if you don't have a FakeBook if you want this bit to go smoothly, as that's the main platform they use.
