Other then the below-average paycheck there really isn't a good reason to work there.
Employees are yelled at, insulted, and they are constantly videotaped throughout the day. There are video cameras all over the company and the owners watch you from within their office. Production workers are not given annual raises. Sometimes they will give out annual cost of living increases-which amount to about .25 an hour. Office workers talk-down to production workers and there is a sense of superiority within the "office". They realize the production workers are desparate to hold onto their jobs so they feel they can get away with the poor treatment. It's not a healthy atmosphere there especially since the economy has gone bad. The owners have lost a lot of business and they are taking it out on the employees.
Advice to Management
Respect your employees. Do not yell at them. Do not expect great things from them when you refuse to give them annual increases. You do not have an incentive program for them to try harder during the year. It doesn't matter how hard they try; they will never get a raise. Give them a reason to work hard for you by letting them earn an increase. Do not be condescending.
