Application
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TravelBird (New York, NY) in August 2016.
Interview
I applied online and received a call from the recruiter a few days after. Classic screening call followed by a one hour HR interview over Skype with the same person a few days after.
After that, I was asked to complete a test within 2 hours that would be submitted to the marketing team for review. The test wasn’t too difficult, just needed to know your way around marketing principles. The feedback was positive and I was moved to a face-to-face interview with 3 persons from the marketing and country department.
Before the interview, I was asked this time to prepare a presentation (about myself + marketing exercises) within 24 hours. This was the most ‘complicated’ part for me as I was abroad with a 6 hour time difference and mostly had to prepare it overnight. I got the chance to present in front of the recruiter and the three other persons (over Skype again), and it was pleasant to see that all of them paid attention, listened to me and asked questions about the presentation. The interview was followed by a few more questions about my skills and motivation, and lasted a bit more than 1 hour.
Eventually, I did not receive an offer. They were looking for someone with more experience and I was just about to graduate at that time. I felt like they asked a lot of work from me, but all people I talked to were very nice and seemed to recognize the efforts made throughout the process. Plus, I appreciated that the recruiter kept in touch with me all the time, and made sure to provide relevant and personal feedback, even to announce that I did not receive the offer.
