I have been working at Travelocity full-time (More than a year)
Incredibly intelligent people, excellent idea sharing culture, decent work-life balance... these are just a few things that make Travelocity, and Expedia Inc., a truly motivating, positive work space. Of the four firms I've worked for to date, working for Travelocity has been the best experience for my career development and continued growth. I have learned so much, work with very talented, intelligent people, and absolutely love working in tech + travel!
I think compensation is an area of improvement, but the company's excellent benefit system somewhat makes up for this.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Travelocity (New York, NY) in April 2011.
Had a phone interview that went well followed by an in person interview. They acted as though they were impressed, and then said they would call me in a few days. Never heard from them and then when I followed up they said they were still in the decision process and that the would get back to me with a definitive and were in a couple days. After that I still never heard from them. I understand not getting the job, but it's unprofessional to promise a response and then just have radio silence.
It's a big week at Travelocity as we kick off our new advertising campaign. "Wander Wisely" is a reflection of the Travelocity team's commitment to making travel more accessible and more fun for all of our customers. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vIQO8
Travelocity recently kicked off its "Travelocity Talks" series, where guest executives are invited to Travelocity headquarters. Our first guest was Deidre Richter of iHeartMedia, who shared some great insights on the online entertainment field, and on managing a successful career.
