    I worked at Tripp Lite full-time (More than 8 years)


    I am thankful for my time at Tripp Lite. I learned from a great leader and was recognized and promoted for hard work. VP of Channel Sales recognized top sales people and hard workers through positive recognition, sales contests, and quarterly awards. He worked closely with me on my professional development and to build a progression plan for internal promotion.
    The channel sales team was provided the technical resources, personnel, inventory, marketing support, and investments necessary to be successful. New products and competitive pricing kept Tripp Lite relevant in a changing technology environment.
    Easy to understand commission plan, annual bonus for record sales, shuttle bus to train stations, and the company cares about employees.


    Overall company culture was "old school" in many ways. When I worked there, there were paper signature approval processes, approval required at highest level for low dollar amounts, and benefits need improvement (parental leave, vacation time, richer 401K match).
    Like most smaller companies, there is a greater opportunity to be recognized, but as you move closer to the top, you're limited in long-term career advancement.

    Advice to Management

    I encourage Tripp Lite to embrace technology to provide a more modern and efficient work environment internally.

    I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Tripp Lite (Chicago, IL).


    Phone interview went well. I honestly believe I was overqualified for the job ( MBA, asked for a larger salary) ... all in all, very nice people. Recruiter didn't follow up with me whatsoever even after I reached out to her.
