Tru Vue is a manufacturer of high performance glazing products for the custom picture framing, museum and engineered optics markets. We are a leader in anti-reflective coatings, as well as conservation-grade UV protection and specialty glazing products for these markets.

Founded in 1946 as Chicago Dial, Tru Vue began as a manufacturer of glass for radio dials and later TV screens. One of the company’s first innovations was a process that etched the glass on TV screens, creating a non-glare surface that refracted light and allowed for a much clearer picture. This etched glass product is what brought Tru Vue into the picture framing market in 1970. Discovering that etched-glass technology eliminated the mirror-like reflections associated with framed art, Tru Vue again brought about industry-changing innovation with the introduction of double-sided, etched non-glare picture framing glass.

Today, Tru Vue sets the standard in glazing that enhances, protects, and beautifies. From custom framing to conservation and preservation in museums and galleries across the globe, to commercial optics, Tru Vue is known as a leader and innovator in the protection and conservation of all things framed and displayed. Whether it’s Museum Glass®, Conservation Clear® and Conservation Reflection Control®, or our acrylic glazing products including Optium Museum Acrylic®, and Vista AR™ no other company has such a complete portfolio of high-performance glazing options as Tru Vue.

Tru Vue is a subsidiary of Apogee Enterprises, Inc.

Cutting edge technology for coating combined with highly automated processing contribute to world-class quality products. Our magnetron sputtered, anti-reflective coating is engineered for demanding optical requirements, durability, and strength. Our conservation grade glazing products provide up to 99% UV protection, the maximum level of protection available in the industry.

Our skilled team’s expertise, commitment, and will-to-win result in an unbeatable portfolio of products for our customers. Careers focused on our technology include Process Engineering, Optical Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Research and Development, Quality, Operations, and Maintenance. Training and development are critical to maintaining our competitive advantage.  We are always seeking ENGINEERS  and PROCESS TECHS to join our team.

We rely on Lean, Six Sigma  and Continuous improvement tools to drive changes in our business. From employee involvement on the plant floor or A3 problem solving to Design of Experiments, the right tools assure continuous and sustained improvement.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tru Vue.

I spoke with HR and the hiring manager on the phone to better understand the position and how my skill set applied to the role. I was quickly brought in for an in-person interview and then completed a second round with a couple other individuals. Everyone was very welcoming. It was not too stressful.
