I have been working at Trueself Group full-time (Less than a year)
Working with Caitlin and the team at Trueself Group is the first time I feel like I have a manager who wants me to do well in my entire life. I have had lots of jobs before, some part time in high school and college, and two more since graduating, and one of the things I was always left to feel like I was missing was a real leader. Most companies want you to fill a role, do your job really well, and have to put in the smallest amount of effort possible to manage you long term. At Trueself, I never feel like Caitlin is complacent with my work. I feel appreciated for working hard and doing a good job, but she knows I am capable of bigger and better and pushes me to continue growing and moving up in the company. That's one of the things I love most here! Trueself makes me a better version of me each week.
Working with customers can be challenging for lots of people, and this job puts me face to face with people every single day. I used to describe myself as great at "dealing with people". I realized that the words and story I tell myself shape how I look at my world. I don't "deal with people" anymore. I am lucky to work in a high energy atmosphere and get out of the office with our customers every day. Not all of our customers are sunshine and rainbows, but that was never the case at any job - so I have learned to focus on the best people and enjoy the process.
Advice to Management
Keep being an amazing example of what it means to run an awesome business, care about people and push us to our potential.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Trueself Group (Tacoma, WA) in January 2016.
I sat down first with Dan, he asked me a couple of personal questions, told me about trueself group and what they do. How direct face to face sales can never be replaced, and the sales to management training program. The next day I interviewed with Jimmy. This was a more in depth interview, he asked me some questions about what I do and where I'm from. He really made me feel comfortable yet challenged me during the interview. Told me more in depth about the training and growth of the company. He really made me feel challenged in the interview process, so when I wrapped up with Dan afterwords I just wanted to get started! It is a great interview process and they made me feel comfortable and wanting to know more at the same time, getting to know me as a person before diving into what I'm looking for in a career.
