Different Equal Pay Standards Apply in Title VII Lawsuit

Pay equity took a major step forward last month as the result of a case that ruled unequal pay for equal work was not required for proving pay discrimination under Title VII under the Civil Rights Act. The case, Lenzi V. Systemax, Inc. involves female employee Danielle Markour and her former employer, Systemax, Inc.

Trusaic – Why Work With Us?

Who We Are

Trusaic is a software company that simplifies complex data and complicated regulations to give employers the information and confidence they need to bring their businesses to the next level. Our World Class 75 Net Promoter Score is proof that our clients trust us to get the job done and done right.

Our Name

TRUSAIC is a combination of the words TRUST and MOSAIC.  Like a MOSAIC, data come in all shapes and forms, structured and unstructured.  With complex government regulations, regulatory compliance and business intelligence necessitates accurate data you can TRUST.

Conquer Complexity

At Trusaic, we conquer complex data and complicated regulations through our software. We expertly extract structured and unstructured workforce data from anywhere, working with any payroll platform, HR system, or other workforce database. From these disjointed systems, we deliver clean data and clear analysis. In the face of convoluted regulatory requirements, our team strips away confusing legalese to get you easily understood answers. Behind the software is a team committed to providing a world-class experience. Educators and translators, we streamline and simplify, keeping you informed and in-the-know.  We pair tax accountants with data scientists, attorneys with engineers. Together, the combined multidisciplinary expertise of our professionals supporting our software enables us to reduce your risk, increase your efficiency, and boost your bottom line.

We go beyond self-service technology. We back our software with personalized world-class support ensuring that you never have to go it alone.

We always put real humans behind the software and data—and a real partner by your side.  As your partner, we never let you distress about the data, panic over the paperwork, or agonize through an audit. But don’t just take our word for it, see what our clients say by clicking here.

Done and Done Right

When the stakes are high, it’s not enough to get it done. It has to get done right.

That’s why the largest health insurance brokers, accounting firms and law firms in the U.S. trust us with their clients.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at Trusaic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As a former executive with nothing to gain from this review, I can honestly say my experience working alongside the extraordinary individuals at Trusaic (formerly First Capitol Consulting, Inc.) was rewarding on a personal and professional level. Reasons why this is a great company to work for:

    1. Talented and highly motivated colleagues. While every company has its bad egg employees, the vast majority of my former colleagues, from management leaders to supporting staff, are incredibly talented and self-driven. This can be a good or bad thing. People possessing strong work ethics and take pride in their work will absolutely thrive here. Applicants who overstate their qualifications and are looking for a free-ride should not apply. The interview process is rigorous.

    2. Caring and friendly culture. As someone who attended nearly every closed-door management meeting, I can attest to the fact that the CEO and every single executive truly care about the company, each other, and all the people that are a part of this company. For example, management is constantly trying to refine and improve the employee benefit plans (
(e.g. 401K, medical/dental/life, parking, etc.). The CEO makes a great effort to keep the atmosphere light for everyone and holds regular all-hands-on-deck meeting to keep everyone in the loop on present and future company initiatives. Company-sponsored events and catered lunched are provided regularly to show appreciation for employees. Don't be fooled by the friendly culture though. The CEO and management hold high standards for themselves and consequently, from their colleagues. These exceptional leaders work very hard so its natural that strong work ethics are valued and rewarded.

    3. Heading in the Right Direction. This company is in a constant state of evolution in refining and executing its short and term business goals and vision. This has caused some confusion and discomfort among the rank and file because this company rarely stays put in its comfort zones. This is necessary to better align the company with the ever-changing business, political and economical landscapes that drive business. The CEO spends a lot of time thinking about and discussing where to take this company next. Its either that or become obsolete.

Do yourself a favor. If you are a self-driven individual looking for a dynamic work environment, then apply for an available position and check out the company. You'll discover exactly what I am talking about.

My only disclaimer to this review is that I am only writing about my experience and observations while I was employed there. Things may have changed since then but knowing the CEO, I'm confident that the company has only gotten better since then.

    Cons

The most common complaint I heard from my non-management colleagues was the seemingly lack of direction of the company (or more precisely, that the company was not adequately communicating its mission and goals to employees). Out of necessity, the company is constantly evolving and fine-tuning its business mission and goals. For better or for worse, this company can and will pivot on a dime if it will better position itself to meet new business demands and challenges. Proposed business initiatives must be scrutinized and vetted for feasibility and profitability (which takes a long time) before it can be communicated to the rank and file. So, you may find yourself working on a business initiative without having a clear understanding of what it's for. I heard through the grapevine that management is getting better at transparency and communicating its goals to the rest of the company.

The second biggest complaint was the seeming cliquishness among management and senior staff. I strongly disagree with this one. I know first-hand that this perception has been discussed several times during management meetings and steps have been taken to promote inclusiveness and cooperation across all department levels. Look no further than the increase in the snack budget and company-hosted events. To those that may feel "left out," I would advise that you approach a management member and invite them to lunch or a coffee break. I have no doubt that they will appreciate the invitation and will oblige as long as they're not busy on a project or assignment. I've never seen the CEO allow a colleague to pay for any meal or drink that he personally attended. If you want to feel involved on a professional and personal level at this company, be proactive about it. Sitting back and waiting for things to happen for you is not the motto of this company. Like the CEO always says, "Carpe Diem!"

    Advice to Management

Don't work so hard. The CEO and senior management truly value work-life balance and they do not expect or want everyone else to work long hours for the sake of working long hours. However, its hard for the staff not to work longer hours when they see their supervisors doing it. Lead by example and try to have a good work/life balance.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Trusaic (Los Angeles, CA) in February 2018.

    Interview

Phone call with the Talent Acquisition Manager and then a 1:1 with the CEO and a 1:1 with the Talent Acquisition Manager. We talked about what to look for in potential employees, what process I'm most comfortable working in and what processes they already had in place, and ended with some personality based questions.
