I have been working at Tube Specialties Co Inc full-time
Just applied for a supervisor position and though i didn't get it, i really appreciated the personal touch that the new production manager gave me. He gave me tips on how to improve and left me feeling reassured that the potential for improvement in the company is very achievable. Feels good to see the shop running smoothly and employees working.
Sometimes we get hassled by upper management From upstairs. Makes me feel bad. Their yelling at us doesnt make me wanna work harder.
Advice to Management
So far so good, just wish a lil less criticism from upstairs that don't understand what we do downstairs. Cheaper health insurance would be nice.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Tube Specialties Co Inc (Portland, OR) in October 2011.
I was told to wait at Aerotek Staffing, was given some legal paperwork to sign, and told to be at the white building with the red stripes at 7 am the next day. There was no filtering of employees - no language, math, skills, or reading and design comprehension tests. Once I was finished with the paperwork, I was promptly escorted out of the building. During the whole process I was asked only two questions - one, can I legally work in the USA, and two, am I a felon. I now know how animals in a machine conveyor feel.
