Mission: Caring, researching, teaching
Twin Cities Spine Center's mission is to be an international leader in spine surgery by providing optimal patient care, publishing research that advances clinical practice, providing a leading U.S. training ...
I worked at Twin Cities Spine Center full-time (More than 3 years)
Getting to understand how to work and understand complex spinal conditions in get detail including how to run an orthopedic spine surgeons clinic. This job facilitate a lot of learning about meaningful use, billing, pt care, face paced, up beat, intelligent staff.
While working there I was able to learn a lot about the spine and the different complex medical issues that are related with it. Over the course of three years I was able to learn a great deal in conditions such as Spinal stenosis, Spondylolysis and Spondylolisthesis, DDD, HNPs, Surgical procedures that work and do not work. Spinal fusions, scoliosis, ETC.
My biggest qualm with the Twin Cities Spine Center was a combination of two different things. First the actual Orthopedic spine surgeons and the patients that have back problems. TCSC is a privately owned company by the the 12 surgeons themselves and to be honest 8 of the 12 docs there main goal in their practice was literally to make as much money and do as many surgeries as possible. It was terrible they are the most unethical providers I have ever met quoting research that there company produces back in 1986 about how spinal fusion surgery works.......it doesn't long term. Secondly the patients are terrible. Just terrible horrible patients.
Advice to Management
My main advise to managemetn is stop being the monst conservative spoken compnay when it comes to social expectataions and behind the door do countlles lucrative acts that only benefit you and you alone. I truly enjoyed my time there and probably know how to read an MRI of the spine better than most drs. but the pay was bad and did not feel safe and knew that my position had an extremely high turnover rate.
