I have been working at U.S. Xpress full-time (More than 5 years)
Company has come long way in developing their employee culture. It can be challenging in the trucking industry, and at one point USX was considered not one of the best places to work. But they really have changed from an overall culture standpoint by replacing personnel of an old guard with management that has improved attitudes and makes work fun to come into each day. Also, good opportunity for Career building/growth in each individual SBU.
Not really a con about USX , but the industry in general... for those who can't handle fast paced 24/7 work then this is not the place for you.
Advice to Management
Continue to focus on improving company culture, taking ideas from some of the divisions that have seen valuable impact from it, such as Logistics.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at U.S. Xpress (Gas City, IN) in March 2017.
Informed me about the job and benefits. Then asked me if I had any questions. Told me I would be training out of state. I was very surprised by the pay. Have to wait until this Friday to find out if I got the job or not. The suspense is killing me.
