I worked at UC Irvine full-time (More than 3 years)
State of the art facilities and cutting edge research institution combined with capable and hard working faculty and staff. Newer university open to new and innovative ideas when it comes to student involvement and teaching.
Does not offer an adequate level of social networking for both students and academia. More networking opportunities among students could foster and stronger sense of pride for the school and stimulate a better Alumni network in the future.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at UC Irvine (Irvine, CA).
There was no formal interview, just a series of casual chats, because I'd been a GSA for the same program and they had known me for years. I don't think they have hired anyone who is NOT a former GSA for years--there is such a huge pool of overqualified, underemployed PhDs and no jobs for them.
