 15,000 Employees. One Mission

We improve lives.  in big ways through learning, healing and discovery.  In small, yet personal ways, throguh human connection.  But in all ways, we improve lives.

Career Growth

There are a variety of roles that a UCHealth employee can potentially move into.  Depending on the department, there are Educator, Process Improvement, Lead, Supervisor, Manager, Director, and VP level positions.  In some departments, positions are on a clinical ladder and employees can move into different levels (I, II, III) to meet new challenges and further their career.  The resources available to employees through organizational development and professional resources with classes and other outside organizations that UCHealth partners with are vast.

REACH Scholarship Program

The REACH (Recognizing Educational Achievement through Careers in Health) scholarship program is designed to award medical assisting or surgical technologist certificate and degree program scholarships to eligible UCHealth employees, or approved UCHealth contract service employees. The scholarship covers current education costs such as tuition, school fees, certification test costs, and/or books up to $15,000.

The scholarship also includes up to 8 hours of educational time off from work per week for educational purposes as approved in advance with your current supervisor.

Upon successful completion of the program (either degree or certificate), you will receive preferred consideration when applying to a benefits-eligible Medical Assistant or Surgical Technologist position in a UCHealth facility in your region.

Professional development classes:

UCHealth offers more than forty professional development courses. We also have three leadership development programs for aspiring, informal and formal leaders who want to take their UCHealth careers to new heights. These professional development programs promote continuous leadership development and support a culture of engagement and top quality care.

Aspiring Leaders

Aspiring Leaders is a six-month program designed to identify traits and qualities to shift from informal leadership to formal leadership. By developing the foundation of leadership competencies essential to your growth as an aspiring leader, you’ll be able to determine for yourself if your desire aligns with the demands of being a formal leader.

Art of Leadership

The Art of Leadership six-month program is designed for those in formal positions of leadership. This program helps participants enhance their ability to lead others through the development of their skills and leadership approach.

Mentoring Program

Mentoring is a relationship between an experienced professional (mentor) who shares their knowledge, skills and experience with a less experienced professional (mentee) to assist in their development. As a two-way process, mentoring benefits both parties as they learn from each other in pursuit of a defined shared purpose. The mentor and mentee co-develop a shared purpose and set of expectations for the mentoring relationship (three, six or nine months). The specific purpose of the mentoring relationship will depend on the individual mentor and mentee. Mentoring goals frequently reference the following themes: organizational awareness, team dynamics, relationship building, critical thinking skills, onboarding, time management, career opportunities and professional development.

I applied online. I interviewed at UCHealth in May 2017.

It was a short interview, fairly typical but important questions. I interviewed with the manager of the department and the educator; they were informative and friendly. UCHealth does require 5 references after the interview, so be prepared for that.
